Have you heard the tale about the guy who took a bunch of monkeys and stuck them in a room with a bunch of typewriters? Supposedly, if given enough time, the monkeys were going to write the great American novel by random chance. The monkeys didn't do it. Instead, they landed a sweet gig writing copy for websites and product descriptions in their spare time. We had the same idea, not about the writing, but about letting the monkeys do the work. We asked for paint splats, and they obliged, sort of. After realizing our mistakes, we cleaned off our gear and set out on our own, taking our inspiration from the monkeys. We flung paint, lots of it, at everything in sight. The paint splats looked great on our monitors and after much deliberation we figured out how to replicate that look inside the computer.
