WELCOME TO RAMPANT DESIGN TOOLS

We mean that. If we had an actual door for you to walk through, we'd invite you to come in, grab something from the fridge, sit on the couch and kick your shoes off. Unfortunately we have no door, no couch, and as for the shoes - that's up to you. We'll get to the fridge later. If you want to get down to what it is we do and who we are, we'll tell you. We are time. No, not some esoteric sci-fi whacked out metaphysical mumbo-jumbo embodiment of the temporal reality, but real time. We're a collection of artists, designers, producers, compositors and animators who have been pushing pixels for quite a while, even before there were pixels to push. We know that there are some things that are always nice to have on hand when you're piecing together a project. It could be a comfortable seat, caffeine in a cup (or can), stock content to make whatever it is you want, or time. That's where we come in. As we said, we can't give you a seat. We'll buy you a drink if you really want one, and want to hear our thoughts on things that only matter to us. But if you're here, what you want is some quality content, something that you can use immediately and not have to research and produce on your own. That takes too long, and time is important to you. You want to sleep in your own bed tonight, not passed out at the computer, we understand that, we've been there. We're in front of our computers right now, behind our cameras, and we're not sleeping. Why? Because we've got a fridge in the kitchen stock full of caffeinated beverages, the fridge in the garage is for the weekend. That's neither here nor there. What is here is a lot of stuff that we took our sweet time to create, and that's what you came to get, our time well spent, so you can save yours.

ABOUT RAMPANT

Here at Rampant Media we do a lot of things. Mainly, we make all sorts of content that's useful for animators, editors, designers, compositors, kids with parents who have disposable income, and pretty much anyone else who wants to plunk down some cash and save themselves some time in the edit bay. It's been a dream of ours to do this for a long time, a real long time. You see, we're part of a secret eternal brotherhood that's walked the earth for longer than we can remember, damn our feet are tired. And for the most part, the tools we've needed to do this have only been around a short time. Trust us, there's only so much that can be done with a Turing Machine or a Difference Engine. Pictures, (much less moving ones) aren't their strong point. Of course many cultures have enjoyed our cave paintings for several millennia, so we have that going for us.

One thing you'll find about Rampant is that we like things to be random. We tend to have more fun that way. For instance, I have a chronic desire for cheese, preferably cheddar. Throw in some bacon and we're having a party. The downside is I'm lactose intolerant, fortunately there are pills for that, and that makes the cheese fun. One thing you'll like about our products is that you can use them while eating cheese AND bacon, no pills required. We think you'll like them even more if you know they are of professional quality and size, with lots of selections, not just a dozen random pieces here or there. We'll also throw in that our content is ready to drop in and use in your projects right away, no need for kitchen appliances or other random devices to access and use the media. With the time that you save you can join us in one of our many past-times, such as scaling the major peaks of our favorite states. Currently we're training to hit the fourth highest in Florida, High Hill in Washington County, it stands at 308 feet above sea level. The peaks of Delaware are next, not because we like the blandness of Delaware, but because you never hear of shark attacks in the first state. We also hear they have good cheddar.

casey.jpgCasey "Sorry About Your Face" Faris | Motionographer | Cinematographer | Sunglasses-Wearer

Casey Faris is a designer/producer-type-person from rainy Oregon.  He likes all sorts of things a video nerd would like: After Effects, cameras, 3D, pixels, aspect ratios, vectorscopes, render passes, clean plates, and all kinds of guns.  Also, helicopters and fire trucks. Right now, Casey's pretty involved in producing a couple reality shows, Graveyard Carz, and Lynch 4 Hire, which are airing/set to air worldwide.  So that's pretty cool.
Um... If you happen to catch him when he isn't creating something, you may discover him eating Thai food, throwing some disc golf, killing his friends at Halo, or writing things about himself in third-person. He also has a smokin' hot wife, who puts up with his nerdery on a daily basis and probably deserves an award.

Alan_Photo.jpgAlan "A-Ball" Pfeil | Audio Engineer | Sound Designer | Waveform Wrangler

Alan Pfeil can be found on most days deep in the recesses of the nearest dungeon. . . er. . . I mean studio. With a six round stereo shotgun microphone in one hand and perhaps throwing rocks with the other, he utilizes numerous years of sound, music, and video experiences to capture the visuals and sounds you have to have for your very own. On his days off, Alan enjoys. . . wait. . . days off!? What's that?
